of Information

In the absence of information, the mind will create a story to fill that gap.

Let's see how this works.

If for some reason, we don't know what's happening with someone, maybe we're waiting, or have made an appointment to meet them at a certain place and time and that person hasn't shown up and hasn't contacted us.

Because there was an expected outcome, and that expectation was not met, after a waiting a while, we may get a little bit irritated.

That is when the fear-based, ego-mind can quite likely kick in and it will create a story in our head, to fill in the missing gap of no information.

The ‘storyteller’ will create a story in our head that is usually based on the worst-case scenario:

"I wonder if they've had an accident, or been kidnapped",

whatever is fabricated in our mind.

Parents go through this when they let their daughter go to the high school prom, or their teenage boy explore night life driving the family car, both with a deadline to get back at 11pm.

At three minutes past 11pm, and their son or daughter has not arrived home, the mind will conjure up all sorts of wicked, horrible scenarios!

We need to be aware of the stories that we are telling in our head, because this is the nature of the mind.

These thoughts are not necessarily emanating from your local mind.

It can also be coming from the collective mind (Universal Mind) of the human family, which contains every thought we have ever had and will have.

Currently we're being influenced to a greater or lesser degree by the content of this Universal Mind.

With 8 billion human minds contributing daily!

If the Universal Mind is filled with fear, as it appears to be at this juncture, then we're going to have fearful thoughts permeate into our own local mind.

This is why we should endeavour to think uplifting, positive and life-affirming thoughts, as they will eventually replace the fear and negavitity we are experiencing out of the Universal Mind.

Ultimately, we collectively will be influenced by random but positive and loving thoughts emanating from the Universal Mind

The Universal Mind will be filled with loving thoughts which is what the Buddha meant by:

'Right Thoughts'

Be aware of the nature and quality of your thoughts.

Watch your thoughts,
choose the
good ones!
